17461-98501 Water Pump Impeller for Suzuki DT2 DT3.5 DT4 DT5 DT6 DT8 Johnson Evinrude 4 5 6 HP — Germany Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Water pump impeller for Suzuki DT outboards from 2 HP to 8 HP and for the Johnson Evinrude 4, 5 and 6 HP, supplied as one impeller. It measures 40.85 mm (1.61 in) outside diameter, 9.75 mm (0.38 in) at the shaft insert and 13.75 mm (0.54 in) high, with 6 blades on a key drive, 8 g. It replaces Suzuki 17461-98501 and Johnson Evinrude 5030188 and 0769477, crossing to Sierra 18-3097, Mallory 9-45504 and CEF 500336. Shipped from our Germany local warehouse.
One impeller covers 2HP, 4HP, 5HP, 6HP and 8 HP on both brands because Johnson bought these pumps from Suzuki and used them unchanged on its own 4, 5 and 6 HP motors from 1998. The Suzuki DT2, DT2.2, DT3.5, DT4, DT5, DT6 and DT8 take it, as do the DF4 and DF6 four strokes.
The size that separates this from the wrong part is 40.85 mm across. The 9.9 HP and larger pumps look the same in a listing photo and measure meaningfully bigger in the hand.

Spring Launch Checklist
| Point in the Season | What the Impeller Does | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| October, motor comes off the boat | Drained, left folded inside the housing | Note running hours, plan the change |
| November to March, cellar or garage | Neoprene takes a set in one position | Order the part before the season starts |
| March, first service before launch | Set vanes will not straighten | Fit the new impeller, keep the old one as spare |
| April, first run on the lake | Cold water, stiffer rubber | Watch the telltale at idle for the first ten minutes |
| Summer, long canal passages | Hours at low speed and part throttle | Check the stream, idle is the hard case |
| End of season | Normal wear, vanes curved | Renew at the manual interval, not only on failure |
