Product Overview

Impeller kit for the large raw water pumps on Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Jabsco, Johnson and Sherwood installations, a service part measuring 65 mm (2.56 in) across and 50 mm (1.97 in) wide with eight blades on a 15.8 mm (0.62 in) spline shaft. It replaces Jabsco 920-0001, Johnson 09-1028B, Sierra 18-3077 and the cross numbers below. Shipped from our Germany local warehouse.

The pack holds the impeller, the pump cover gasket and the O-ring. On these pumps the cover comes off every service, so the seals are disturbed whether or not they look tired, and a two euro gasket that fails costs an engine.

Fitting is straightforward once the hub is square on the shaft. Forced on at an angle, the impeller runs off centre, one side of the blades wears away and the brass hub strips. Seat it by hand, check it turns with the shaft, then fit the cover.

50 to 100, coastal cruising Every season One season is the safe interval on salt water
100 to 200, long distance motorboat Every season, check at half way Blades wear faster on long runs at cruise
Over 200, charter or working boat Twice a season Change on hours, not on symptoms
Liveaboard, diesel run daily Every 250 hours Gensets and main engines both count
Any overheat event Immediately Heat damages the blades even if they look fine
