Flexible Impeller Kit 920-0001 920-0001-P 09-1028B 18200 18-3077 877061 for Volvo Penta Yanmar Jabsco Johnson Inboard Raw Water Pump 8 Blade 65 mm — United Kingdom Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Cooling pump impeller kit for Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Jabsco, Johnson and Sherwood raw water pumps, an eight blade service part 65 mm (2.56 in) in diameter and 50 mm (1.97 in) wide, on a 15.8 mm (0.62 in) spline shaft. It replaces 920-0001, 09-1028B and 18-3077 and fits the Volvo Penta D4 and D5 and the Yanmar 4LH range. Shipped from our United Kingdom local warehouse.
Three parts come in the box: the impeller, the cover gasket and the O-ring. On a shaft drive boat the pump is usually under the engine, reached from the companionway, and the seals are the two things that get pinched or lost on the way back together.
The impeller is neoprene with a brass spline hub. Neoprene copes with raw water and a short dry start better than nitrile, and the brass hub takes the drive load through the splines rather than through friction on a smooth shaft.

Tidal Moorings and Salt Water
| British Use | Effect on the Pump | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Swinging mooring, boat afloat all year | Pump sits wet, blades never fully dry | Check the impeller each spring |
| Solent and Channel salt water | Salt crystals build on the cam face | Flush with fresh water when ashore |
| Mud berth or drying mooring | Silt reaches the strainer at low water | Clean the strainer before every start |
| Inland canals and rivers | Weed and leaf litter block the intake | Check the strainer, clear the grill |
| Winter ashore, engine drained | Blades take a set in the housing | Fit the new kit before launch |
| Frost in an undrained pump | Cover and housing crack | Drain the raw water side at lay up |
Spares Worth Carrying on Board
| Spare | Why | Where It Goes |
|---|---|---|
| This impeller kit | The most common at sea failure after fuel | Engine spares box |
| Spare cover gasket and O-ring | Lost or pinched during a hurried repair | In the kit bag |
| Impeller puller or two screwdrivers | Blades grip the housing after a season | Tool roll |
| Hose clips for the raw water hose | The hose comes off to reach the pump | Tool roll |
| Torch and a shallow tray | Pump is usually low and dark | Engine bay |
| Fresh water flush hose | Salt sits in the pump between trips | Dock box |
Fitting Notes

| 1 | Check the pump body number, the D4, 920-0001, 09-1028B and 18200 bodies all take this impeller |
| 2 | Close the seacock before the cover comes off |
| 3 | Check the old impeller comes out whole, a missing blade has to be found in the cooler |
| 4 | Check the cam and the cover face for scoring while the pump is open |
| 5 | Clean both seal grooves, then grease the bore and fold the blades in the running direction |
| 6 | Slide the impeller on square and turn the shaft to check it drives |
| 7 | Fit the new gasket and O-ring dry and tighten the cover evenly |
| 8 | Open the seacock, prime the pump and check the exhaust water before slipping lines |
