Product Overview
Thrust rod and spring assembly for Mercury 4 to 15 HP, Tohatsu and Nissan 5 to 18 HP two and four stroke outboards, the bracket part that sits in the clamp bracket and holds the motor at the tilt position, replacing 350-62121-1, 369-62122-2, 350621212M, 16198004 and 8150931.
This is the tilt rod that drops through the clamp bracket holes with the spring underneath it. The spring takes the load as the motor is tilted, and the rod is what the swivel bracket rests on when the motor is set at a shallow or deep running angle.
Both parts wear together. A bent rod will not slide through the bracket cleanly, and a collapsed spring lets the motor drop onto the lowest notch, which changes the running attitude and puts load on the transom. Replace the pair rather than one half. The rod is stainless steel, so it holds up in salt water where a plain steel rod rusts and seizes in the bracket.

- Check the bracket holes for wear before fitting a new rod, a worn hole lets the rod rattle
