Product Overview
Upper exhaust pipe bellows part for MerCruiser V6 and V8 sterndrive engines, replacing 32-44348001, 32-44348 and 32-44348T and crossing to Sierra 18-2748, Mallory 9-72805 and GLM 89120. It is supplied as 1 x bellows with 2 x stainless clamps, which makes it a complete kit for one joint.
The bellows is 4 inch (101.6 mm) diameter and is the upper pipe in the exhaust system, the one that joins the exhaust pipe to the transom assembly plate at the top of the gimbal housing. Net weight is 481.5 g, so it is a thick walled moulding rather than a thin sleeve.
It covers the 3.0 L, 4.3 L, 5.0 L, 5.7 L, 6.2 L, 7.4 L and 8.2 L V6 and V8 engines on Alpha One and Bravo drives from 1987 to 1998. The serial number ranges in the table below are the only reliable way to check an older boat, because MerCruiser changed the exhaust pipe without changing the model name.

Before You Buy
- Measure the old bellows at 4 inch diameter, the V6 lower bellows is a different shape and size
- Check the engine serial number against the table, the 1987 engines used a shorter pipe
- Check the transom plate flange for corrosion before fitting, a pitted flange will tear a new bellows
- Fit the bellows before the gimbal bearing and alignment work, the order saves pulling it twice
- Tighten the clamps with the ribs seated in the groove, a clamp on the flat will leak exhaust into the boat
- Check for exhaust smell in the engine bay after the first run, that is the sign of a clamp off its seat
