Product Overview
Five piece zinc anode kit for Yanmar marine diesels, made up of 1 intercooler zinc at 1/2 in NPT with a 2 in body, and 4 heat exchanger and oil cooler zincs at 3/8 in NPT with a 1-1/4 in body. The two part numbers are 119574-18790 for the intercooler and 119574-44150 for the four smaller anodes. The kit covers the 6LY range, the 6LP and 6LPA series and part of the 4LHA range.
Anodes are consumables and the set is sized to the engine, not to a single port: a Yanmar straight six carries four small anodes across the heat exchanger and oil cooler plus the one in the intercooler. Change them at 50 percent consumption, because a wasted anode stops protecting the raw water side and the next thing to go is the cooler bundle or the cylinder head.

Before You Buy
- Check the engine model and serial number, this kit does not fit the 6LY3 and it does not fit the 4LH-STE rated at 230 hp
- Some 4LH engines have no anode ports at all, the -TE, -HTE and -DTE variants are the ones to check before ordering
- Drain the raw water side before pulling the old anodes, and have a tray under the port
- Clean the thread and check the plug head for corrosion, a seized anode usually means the thread needs dressing
- Renew at 50 percent consumption, an anode that is half gone has already lost most of its protection
