Product Overview
Thermostat repair kit part with hoses for Johnson and Evinrude V4 crossflow outboards from 65 HP to 115 HP, with a 61 degrees C (142 degrees F) opening temperature, replacing 378065, 393659, 434841, 437414, 5005440 and 508626, plus GLM 13270 and Sierra 18-3673. The two thermostats come complete with valve springs, poppet relief valves, grommets, thermostat gaskets, cover gaskets and hoses. Dispatched from our Australia local warehouse.
This is the full repair rather than the thermostat alone. On a V4 crossflow the poppet relief valves and the grommets wear with the thermostats, and the hoses harden, so fitting only the discs usually brings the same cooling fault back within a season. Two of everything matches the two banks on the V4.
A 61 degrees C kit runs these engines at the temperature they were built for. Symptoms that point here are an engine that never reaches temperature and fouls plugs, one that climbs fast and stays hot, or a thermostat housing that weeps at the joint. Check the housing for corrosion and the water tube for scale while it is open.
