Product Overview
Complete water pump kit part with housing for Yamaha 150 HP to 250 HP two-stroke and four-stroke outboards, replacing kit 61A-W0078-A2 and 61A-W0078-A3, plus Sierra 18-3395. The kit carries the impeller, the pump housing, the stainless insert cup and the wear plate as the main components, together with the key, gasket, O-rings, bolts, dowel pins and washers needed to rebuild the pump in one go. Dispatched from our United States local warehouse.
This is the rebuild rather than the refresh. On a 150 to 250 HP Yamaha the housing, cup and wear plate all take the same grit as the impeller, and fitting a new impeller into a scored housing gives weak flow from day one. Buying the whole kit once is cheaper than replacing the housing a season later.
Rebuild the pump when the tell-tale weakens, the engine runs hot at cruise, or the old impeller comes out cracked, set or short of a blade. Check the driveshaft splines and the housing bolts for corrosion while the pump is off, and prime the system before the first start.
