875580 Thermostat Kit 180F 82C for Volvo Penta 110 117 120 125 138 146 167 HP Engine — Germany Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Thermostat kit opening at 180 °F (82 °C), packed at 15 x 10 x 5 cm, supplied as one thermostat and one seal ring. It replaces Volvo Penta 875580, and fits Sierra 18-3666 and Mallory 43010 (9-43010). Fitment covers the 110, 117, 120, 125, 138, 146 and 167 HP engines. Shipped from our Germany local warehouse.
Raw water cooling on these engines is only as good as the thermostat that controls it. North Sea and Baltic water sits well below 82 °C even in summer, so a thermostat that hangs open keeps the block cold, the choke circuit thinks the engine is still warming up, and fuel consumption climbs while the gauge never reaches its normal mark.
The opposite failure is faster and more expensive. A thermostat stuck shut gives no warning beyond a rising gauge, and on a raw water engine the exhaust risers are the first thing to suffer. Either way the test is the same and it takes ten minutes in a pan of water.
