Thermostat Kit 82 Degree 3831424 875849 for Volvo Penta AD31 KAD32 AD41 KAD42
Thermostat Kit 82 Degree 3831424 875849 for Volvo Penta AD31 KAD32 AD41 KAD42
Product Overview
Thermostat kit for Volvo Penta marine diesel engines, opening at 82 °C (180 °F) and supplied as 1 x thermostat. It is the replacement part for Volvo Penta 3831424, 875849, 876128, 1544390 and 273952, and crosses to Sierra 18-3538. The thermostat holds the engine at its designed running temperature: stuck open and the engine never warms up, so it runs rich, makes white smoke and wears faster; stuck shut and it overheats within minutes of coming off the dock. On these raw-water cooled diesels the capsule also collects salt and silt, which is why the opening temperature drifts long before the part fails outright.
