9 Inch Spark Plug Wire 0582365 for Johnson Evinrude Outboard 18-5231-1
9 Inch Spark Plug Wire 0582365 for Johnson Evinrude Outboard 18-5231-1
Product Overview
Spark plug wire, 9 inch or 228.6 mm long, a direct replacement for Johnson, Evinrude and OMC 0582365 and for Sierra 18-5231-1. One wire ships in a 150 mm x 180 mm x 10 mm sleeve at 49 g.
The wire runs from the ignition coil to the spark plug on the crossflow V4 and V6 motors of the 1980s and 1990s. It has a Kevlar core with a stainless steel wound conductor, a silicone jacket and boot, and stainless terminals at both ends.
The silicone jacket is what keeps the lead alive on an outboard. Heat under the cowling hardens ordinary rubber, the boot cracks, and the spark starts tracking down the outside of the plug instead of jumping the gap.
Fitment covers the V4 and V6 crossflow motors and most Johnson and Evinrude 90HP to 235HP outboards of that period. The smaller 10HP to 75HP motors also use a 9 inch wire on some models, so check the length of the lead you are replacing before ordering.
