Product Overview
Blue decal sticker kit for the Mercury 225 HP OptiMax outboard top cowl, replacing 824105A00, 824105A96 and 824105A95. The kit is a precut set of graphics for one cowl, printed on white vinyl with a gloss clear laminate over the top.
Blue is the cowl colour the OptiMax range was sold in, so this is the set that brings a repainted 225 back to its factory appearance. These are the large two and three litre V6 cowls, which means a lot of decal area and no room to hide a piece that is even slightly out of line, so fit them wet and work from the cowl edges.
The kit is precut with no trimming, and the laminate protects the print against UV, fuel and salt water. On an engine that lives on a trailer the UV is what kills these, and a faded original set is usually worse than a clean new one.

Before You Buy
- Match the old decal against 824105A00, 824105A96 or 824105A95 before ordering
- Confirm the cowl graphics were blue, the OptiMax range did not use one colour for every year
- Check the cowl has not been resprayed in a non standard shade, the graphic will not match
- Degrease the cowl with a panel wipe and fit the decals wet so each piece can be slid into line
- Squeegee from the centre out, then peel the backing slowly at a low angle so the vinyl does not stretch
- Do not fit over fresh paint, let it cure for a week or the solvent will lift the adhesive
