Product Overview
Camshaft oil seal for the Kohler CH, CV, SV and KT series engines, the seal that runs on the camshaft where it leaves the crankcase. It replaces Kohler 24 032 19-S and KH 24 032 01-S, it also crosses to Stens 055-600, it fits the 82 Kohler models listed below, and it ships as one seal in a 150 mm x 180 mm x 10 mm pack at 22 g.
The seal sits in the crankcase wall behind the camshaft. It keeps the engine oil inside the sump and keeps dirt and wash water out, and it runs on a turning shaft every time the engine is started, so the lip wears long before anything else in the engine does.
A weeping camshaft seal shows as oil mist and dirt collecting around the seal, a drip under the engine after it has been standing, or oil thrown onto the belt and pulley on that end of the crankcase. Left alone the oil reaches the belt and the engine starts shedding it around the deck.
The seal is a press fit and it is damaged when it is pulled, so it is replaced rather than reused. Doing it at the same time as the belt on that end of the engine saves doing the same strip down twice.
Fitment covers the Kohler CH18 to CH752, CV18 to CV752, ECH and ECV 630 to 749, EKT, ELH, EZT, FCV, KT, LH, PCH and SV series listed in the table below. Check the engine model and spec number on the engine plate, and the number on the old seal, before ordering.
