Carburetor 68T-14301-11 for Yamaha 4 Stroke F6 F8 F9.9 8HP 9.9HP Outboard
Carburetor 68T-14301-11 for Yamaha 4 Stroke F6 F8 F9.9 8HP 9.9HP Outboard
Product Overview
Carburetor for the Yamaha F6, F8 and F9.9 four stroke outboards, supplied as 1 x carburetor assembly. This part is the complete carburetor that goes back on in place of the original. It replaces Yamaha 68T-14301-11 and fits the 8 HP and 9.9 HP models listed in the table below.
This is the complete assembly, not a repair kit. The body, the float bowl, the jets, the throttle plate and the choke are all on it, so the job is unbolt the old one, transfer nothing, fit this one and set the idle.
These carburettors come off for two reasons. The first is dirt. Fuel left standing in a float bowl leaves a varnish that plugs the pilot jet, and the engine then idles badly or stalls when it is put into gear. Cleaning works once or twice; after that the passages are worn and a new carburettor is the cheaper answer.
The second is air leaks and worn throttle shafts. A shaft that has worn oval lets air past the throttle plate, the idle mixture will not set, and the engine hangs at high revs when it comes back to neutral.
The number is 68T-14301-11. The listings also quote the number without the last two digits, as 68T-14301, and list several older suffixes that fit the same engines.

These are the model codes given on the eBay listings for this carburetor. The F6, F8 and T8 models are all 8 HP engines, and the T8 is the high thrust version built for sailboat auxiliaries and heavy displacement hulls. The F9.9 is the 9.9 HP version of the same engine family.
The listings are not consistent about the 9.9. The model codes given in detail are all F6, F8 and T8, which are 8 HP engines, and the body text on all three eBay listings says 8 HP 2001 and later. The 9.9 HP is named in the US and UK titles and in the general line on the US listing. If your engine is an F9.9, send us the model code and the serial number before ordering and we will confirm the carburetor against it.
The listings give 2001 and later with no upper limit. Yamaha built these engines for well over a decade and the emission spec changed across the years, so if you are ordering for a late engine, send us the year as well as the model.
