Product Overview
Carburetor for the Mercury and Mariner 8 HP and 9.9 HP four stroke outboards, the fuel system part that bolts to the intake and meters fuel into the motor. It replaces Mercury 895110T01 and 895110T11, it fits both the standard and the Bigfoot versions from 2006, and one carburetor assembly ships in a 110 mm x 195 mm x 135 mm box at 623 g.
These two motors are the small portable four strokes, the ones on tenders, inflatables and small fishing boats. Mercury has used the same intake layout across the standard and Bigfoot lower units, so one carburetor body covers both.
The carburetor on these motors is a single barrel downdraft with an accelerator pump. When a motor needs choke long after it is warm, hunts at idle, or cuts out when the throttle is opened, the fault is usually inside the carburetor rather than in the ignition.
Cleaning only works while the passages are open and the needle still seats. Once the throttle shaft has play in the bore or the mixture screw no longer changes anything, a replacement costs less than a rebuild that comes back a month later.
