Product Overview

Carburetor repair kit for the Yamaha and Tohatsu two stroke outboards, the kit of soft parts that goes into the carburettor when it is rebuilt. It replaces Yamaha 6L5-W0093-00-00 and 6N0-W0093-00-00, it also crosses to Tohatsu 369-87122-1 and Sierra 18-7765, it fits the Yamaha 3, 6 and 8 HP models listed below, and it ships as one kit in a 153 mm x 103 mm x 33 mm box at 55 g.

The kit covers the parts that age inside a carburettor: the gaskets, the needle and seat, the float valve and the soft plugs. These are the pieces that go hard, swell or block up, and they are what a carburettor needs when it has been sitting with fuel in it.

A carburettor that needs a kit runs lean or floods. Lean shows as a motor that surges, sneezes back through the intake or only idles with the choke part out. Flooding shows as fuel running out of the overflow, a plug that keeps fouling, or a motor that will not stay running at idle.

Old fuel is the usual cause. Ethanol blend left in a carburettor over a winter draws water, the soft parts swell and the idle passages varnish up. A rebuild with a new kit is cheaper than a new carburettor and it is the fix that lasts if the tank and lines are cleaned at the same time.

Fitment covers the Yamaha 2-stroke 3 HP 1988-2002, 6 HP 1988-1996 and 8 HP 1984-2009, and the Tohatsu and Nissan 2-stroke 4, 5, 8 and 9.8 HP models listed below. Check the model or serial number on the engine plate before ordering.
