Carburetor Repair Kit 6N0-W0093 6N0-W0093-00 6N0-W0093-01 6G1-W0093 for Yamaha 6HP 8HP 2 Stroke Outboard 1997-2009 — Germany Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Carburetor repair kit for Yamaha 6 HP and 8 HP two stroke outboards, supplied as one complete rebuild set for a single carburettor. It replaces Yamaha 6N0-W0093-00 and 6N0-W0093-01 and also covers the 6G1-W0093 kit. It fits the 6HP motor from 1997 to 2000 and the 8HP motor from 1997 to 2009, including the auxiliary motors that sit on the transom bracket of a sailing yacht. Shipped from our Germany local warehouse.
The kit is the soft parts that do not survive being taken apart: gaskets, the needle and seat, and the seals around the throttle and mixture screws. The metal parts in the carburettor are reused, provided the body is cleaned properly before assembly.
These carburettors fail on time, not on hours. A motor that runs twenty hours a season and sits for the rest of the year gives more trouble than one used every weekend, because the fuel in the bowl turns to varnish while the boat is ashore.

Winter Lay-Up and the First Spring Start
| Situation | What Happens to the Carburettor | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| Motor ashore all winter | Fuel in the bowl evaporates and leaves varnish | Drain the bowl before lay up, every year |
| Left with fuel in it | Passages block solid over the winter | Strip and rebuild in spring with this kit |
| First start in April | Motor runs only on choke, then stalls | Rebuild rather than adjust the screws |
| Fuel left in the tank too | Old mix and water at the bottom | Fresh fuel, then rebuild the carburettor |
| Motor hung on the pushpit all winter | Rain and salt into the air intake | Check the body for corrosion before rebuilding |
| Rebuilt but the bowl still leaks | Float height set wrong | Set it to spec, not by eye |
Six and Eight HP Auxiliary Motors
| How the Motor Is Used | Effect on the Carburettor | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Long idle motoring in a marina | Low speed circuit does the work | Pilot circuit is the one that blocks |
| Short runs only, engine never hot | Condensation inside the fuel system | Check the bowl for water each season |
| Pushed hard against wind and chop | Main jet and needle under load | Worn needle shows as rich running |
| Tiller steering, motor tilted often | Fuel runs back out of the bowl | Hard starting after a long tilt, expect it |
| Used as a get-home motor | Starts when nothing else does | Rebuild it before the day it is needed |
| Stored on a mooring in the water | Constant damp, aluminium body corrodes | Check the body, not just the gaskets |
Tuning After the Rebuild
| Step | What to Do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Count the turns in on each mixture screw before removal | It is the only record of where it was |
| 2 | Soak the body and blow every passage through | The kit cannot clear varnish |
| 3 | Set the float height to spec on the bench | A high float floods the motor at idle |
| 4 | Start at the factory screw settings and adjust from there | One change at a time |
| 5 | Set the idle mixture with the motor warm, in gear if possible | It behaves differently under load |
| 6 | Check the plug colour after the first half hour | A lean setting shows up there first |
| 7 | Recheck the bowl screws after the first run | Gaskets settle and needs a nip |
| 8 | Tie the motor onto a tank test before the season starts | Better on the trailer than on the water |
Fitting Notes
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Check the engine is a 6HP built 1997 to 2000 or an 8HP built 1997 to 2009 |
| 2 | Match the old carburettor against 6N0-W0093-00 or 6G1-W0093 before ordering |
| 3 | Work over a tray, the needle and the small springs are easily lost |
| 4 | Count the turns in on each mixture screw before it comes out |
| 5 | Soak the body and blow every passage through with compressed air |
| 6 | Fit the new needle and seat and set the float height before the bowl goes on |
| 7 | Check the throttle and choke linkage moves freely before refitting the motor cover |
| 8 | Drain the carburettor before winter storage, stale fuel is what destroys it the second time |
