Product Overview
Water pump repair kit for Mercury 2 to 3.5 HP, Tohatsu and Nissan 2.5 and 3.5 HP and Johnson Evinrude 3.5 HP outboards, with a 33.6 mm six blade impeller, 14.35 mm high, 10.4 mm hub, supplied with a housing gasket, a plate gasket and a drive key, replacing 47-16154-3, 369-65021-1 and 18-3098.
This is the complete pump kit for the smallest four stroke and two stroke motors, not just the impeller. The two gaskets and the key are included because on these little pumps the housing gasket and the plate gasket are what fail first, and neither is reusable once the pump has been apart.
The 33.6 mm diameter is the small body used on the 2 to 3.5 HP range. Check the hub and the key, then check the stainless plate for scoring, because a scored plate will not seal against a new gasket and the pump will pull air instead of water.

- Check the number on the old impeller, 47-16154-3 and 369-65021-1 are the same 33.6 mm body
- Check the serial number against the ranges above, Mercury changed the pump across the range
- Check the stainless plate for scoring, a scored plate will not seal with a new gasket
- Check the key and the keyway in the shaft before fitting
- Fit with glycerine or soap only, never grease or oil on neoprene
- Fit both gaskets dry, seat the key, and fold the blades in the direction of rotation
- Run on muffs and confirm the telltale before leaving the ramp
