Product Overview
Marine diesel fuel filter element part for Yanmar 1GM, 2GM, 2QM, 3GM, 3HM, 3QM, 2YM and 3YM engines from 7 HP to 27 HP, replacing 104500-55710 and 10450055710, plus Sierra 18-79960. Fitment runs from the 1GM10 single cylinder up to the 3YM30 and 3QM30 three cylinder blocks, including the -YEU variants. Dispatched from our United Kingdom local warehouse.
On a small marine diesel the filter is the cheapest part in the fuel system and the one that decides whether the injector pump sees clean fuel. Year-round use means diesel bug, water from a partially filled tank and sediment from the bottom of the tank all reach the element before they reach anything else.
A clogged element shows up as hard starting, low power under load, black smoke or a motor that dies when the throttle goes down. Replace it at the service interval and bleed the system afterwards, because these engines will not self-prime through an air lock.
