Product Overview
Fuel filter element, a direct replacement for Mercury Mariner outboards from 75-225 HP that use a vapor separator with a top screw in filter. It replaces Mercury 35-8M0020349 and 35-8M0122423, and crosses to Sierra 18-7981. One element ships in a 150 mm x 100 mm x 60 mm box at 99 g.
This is the screw in element that sits on top of the vapor separator, not the whole separator housing. It unscrews from the top, drops in and seals on its own O ring, with no fuel line to disturb.
The element is the last filter before the injectors, so it catches water and grit that got past the main water separating filter. When it loads up, the motor leans out at high revs and the Verado starts to surge before it sets a fault.
Fitment covers the DFI 3 cylinder 1.5L motors, the Verado four and six cylinder four strokes, the DFI 3.0L 225HP, the L4 and L6 Verado, and the MCM 4.5L and 6.2L inboards. Every model is listed in the table below.
