Fuel Pressure Regulator Assembly 892681 18-33211 for Mercury Mercruiser 5.0L 8.2L
Fuel Pressure Regulator Assembly 892681 18-33211 for Mercury Mercruiser 5.0L 8.2L
Product Overview
Fuel pressure regulator assembly 892681 is the direct replacement part for Mercury and MerCruiser 5.0L to 8.2L MPI engines, the regulator that holds rail pressure steady on the 350, 477, 484, 496, 520 and 540 series. It fits the Scorpion 350 and 377 as well, comes in a 150 x 100 x 50 mm box at 94 g, and it replaces 892681, 18-33211 and 9-33211.
The regulator sits on the fuel rail and returns excess fuel to the tank, keeping the pressure the injectors see at a fixed value above manifold pressure. A weak diaphragm drops that pressure under load and the motor runs lean; a split one floods the rail and the motor runs rich and hard to start.
Fit a new regulator rather than a used one. The diaphragm is rubber and it ages in the same way the hoses do, so a regulator from a donor engine is usually no better than the one coming off.
