Product Overview
Fuel pump, a mechanical fuel system part for Yamaha four-stroke outboards from 75 HP to 115 HP and for Mercury Mariner four-strokes from 75 HP to 115 HP, supplied as 1 complete pump with a shipping weight of 493 g. It replaces Yamaha 68V-24410-00 and 6D8-24410-10-00 and Mercury 880890T1 and 880980A02. Held in our Australia local warehouse.
This is the round head body. The flat head version carries the same numbers on some listings and interchanges on fitment, so if the pump on your motor looks different but the number matches, it is still the right part.
Yamaha built the F75 through F115 range and the Mercury 75 to 115 four-strokes on the same block, which is why one pump covers two number series. It is driven off the powerhead and feeds the high pressure system, so a pump that is losing volume shows up first as a motor that will not pull full revs under load.

Hot Days, E10 and Long Runs Offshore
| What the Skipper Sees | What Is Happening | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| Motor loses revs after an hour at sea | Pump volume drops as it warms | Check the pump drive and the filter first |
| Boat runs fine cold, flat when hot | Vapour lock in the supply line | Insulate the line, check the primer bulb |
| E10 fuel left in the tank between trips | Ethanol attacks old pump seals | Drain the tank, avoid long storage with E10 |
| Motor surges at cruise | Restricted filter, not always the pump | Change the filter and separator before the pump |
| Fuel smell in the cowling | Pump body or hose joint weeping | New clips and a new pump body |
| Motor will not restart when hot | Weak pump and a hot fuel rail | Prime with the bulb, then replace the pump |
Fitting Notes
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Check the number on the pump body, the round head and flat head versions both fit on the same numbers |
| 2 | Check the model plate for F75A through F115A or the Mercury equivalent before ordering |
| 3 | Check the fuel filter and the water separator first, a restricted supply masks as a weak pump |
| 4 | Check the pump drive for wear where it meets the powerhead, a worn drive will not turn a new pump properly |
| 5 | Fit new clips at both hose joints and prime with the bulb before starting |
| 6 | Run under load and check the joints and the pump body for weeps |
| 7 | Recheck the rail pressure and the idle quality once the motor is warm |
| 8 | Keep the old pump as a spare if it still primes, it is a part that fails without warning |
