Bellows Retainer Ring Install Driver Tool 43577 18-9870 for Mercruiser Alpha One Gen 2 Bravo Blackhawk Sterndrive — Australia Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Install driver part for the U-joint bellows retainer ring on MerCruiser Alpha One Gen 2, Bravo One, Bravo Two, Bravo Three and Blackhawk sterndrives. It seats the aluminium lock ring squarely into the bellows groove so the ring goes in flat and locks, instead of distorting and popping back out. Crosses to 43577, Sierra 18-9870 and Mallory 9-79821. Dispatched from our Australia local warehouse.
The ring is a light aluminium pressing and it will not take a hammer. Every drive that comes back with a bellows full of water has a story about the ring, and the usual one is a ring that went in at an angle, bent, and left a gap at the bottom of the joint where water sits.
The driver does one job: it puts even pressure around the whole circumference at once so the ring goes in true on the first attempt. Used with the drive off the boat and the bellows clean and dry, it turns a job that usually needs two pairs of hands into a single-handed one.
