This is the kit for the annual service rather than for a repair. The three systems that fail first on a small Honda four stroke are the water pump, the fuel filter and the thermostat, and all three wear on the same timetable.
The impeller is the part that matters most. It is the reason a 9.9 or 15 HP Honda overheats, and on these engines it is a small part doing a lot of work: 40.95 mm outside, 14.11 mm inside and 28.37 mm tall, six blades in neoprene rubber, driven on a key.
The fuel filter and the thermostat come with it because they are on the same interval. A thermostat that opens late looks exactly like a weak water pump from the helm, so replacing both removes the guesswork when the engine runs hot.
Everything in the box is also listed separately if you only need one part, but the kit is how these engines are meant to be serviced: the gaskets and O-rings you disturb come with it, so nothing has to be reused.
