Product Overview
MerCruiser gimbal anode bolt kit, supplied as a matched set of aluminium bolts and anodes for the bottom of the transom assembly. It replaces MerCruiser 55989A8, 55989A1 and 97-8M0030655. The kit fits Alpha One and early Gen 2 transom assemblies as well as early Bravo drives, and is the sacrificial pair that keeps the gimbal housing and the drive from being eaten away. An anode that has gone white, chalky or half its original size has stopped protecting the drive and needs replacing.
