Maintenance kit for the Mercury 75, 80, 90, 100 and 115 HP four stroke 2.1 litre outboards, the complete service package that covers the water pump, the thermostat, the fuel filter assembly and the oil filter in one box. It replaces the Mercury Quicksilver kit numbers 8M0097855 and 8M0057748, it fits engines from serial 2B094996 onward, and it ships as one kit in a 220 mm x 150 mm x 120 mm box at 971 g.
The 2.1 litre four stroke is the engine Mercury built in the largest numbers, and its service schedule is mostly consumables. The water pump impeller, the thermostat, the fuel filter and the oil filter are all wear items, and a service that replaces only the oil leaves the other three to fail quietly during the season.
The water pump repair kit in this box is the full kit rather than the impeller alone. It carries the impeller, the plate, the key, the seals, the O-rings and the gaskets that sit under the pump housing, because a new impeller run against a scored plate will not last. The water tube and the pump base are included as well, which is what makes this the job that gets done once.
The thermostat comes with its own seals, and the fuel filter is supplied as the complete assembly, not just the element, so the water separating bowl is renewed with it. Four drain gaskets cover the gear case plugs and the oil filter is the cartridge type used on these engines.
Fitment covers the Mercury and Quicksilver 75, 80, 90, 100 and 115 HP four stroke 2.1 litre models from serial 2B094996 and up. Check the serial on the engine bracket against the fitment table before ordering, because the earlier 1.7 litre engines used different pump parts.
