Product Overview
Power pack, a direct replacement part for Johnson and Evinrude two stroke outboards from 4 HP to 60 HP built between 1977 and 1984, and for the OMC Sail Drive 1.5 litre. It replaces Johnson Evinrude 0582452, 581924 and 583380, and crosses to Sierra 18-5758, CDI 113-2453, GLM 75400 and Mallory 9-25002. One power pack ships in a 90 mm x 100 mm x 150 mm box at 341 g.
This is the ignition module that charges the coils and fires them at the right moment. On these motors it replaces the whole switch box rather than a single component, so there is nothing to set except the air gap and the timing marks.
The common failure is heat rather than wear. The potting cracks, water gets in on a cold morning and the motor drops a cylinder or refuses to restart once it is warm.
Fitment covers the 4, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 8, 9, 15, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 55 and 60 HP Johnson and Evinrude two strokes from 1977 to 1984, plus the OMC Sail Drive 1.5L of the same years. Check the model and year before ordering.
