Product Overview
Prop shear pin kit part for Minn Kota trolling motors, supplied as eight stainless steel pins of 1/8 in (3.18 mm) diameter and 1.06 in (26.9 mm) length, replacing Minn Kota 2092600. The pins fit MKP-2, MKP-3, MKP-6, MKP-7, MKP-25 and MKP-37 propeller drives on 30-70 lb thrust models. Dispatched from our Australia local warehouse.
The shear pin is the cheapest part on a trolling motor and the one that saves the most expensive ones. It is designed to snap before the propeller, the shaft or the lower unit takes the load, so a pin that fails is doing its job. Carry spares: a broken pin shows up as a propeller that spins freely by hand, a missing prop pin, or no thrust with the motor running.
An eight pack covers a full season of shallow water work, weeded flats and the occasional unseen rock or boat ramp. Fit a new pin with the prop seated on the shaft splines, check the prop nut is snug, and keep the rest of the pack in the boat rather than in the workshop.
