Product Overview
Trim sender sensor assembly 3849411 for Volvo Penta sterndrives and OMC engines, the sensor that reads the drive angle and feeds the trim gauge. It fits the SX, SX-M, DP-S and A-32 / A-52 series listed below, comes in a 175 x 110 x 100 mm box at 242 g, and replaces 3849411, 3855535, 3863007 and 3849413.
The sender bolts to the transom assembly with a small arm that follows the drive as it trims. The gauge needle moves only because this arm moves, so a gauge that sits still or reads full up all the time usually points at the sender rather than the gauge.
Replace the sender and check the wiring at the same time. The connector sits where water collects, and a corroded plug will give the same dead gauge as a failed sensor.
