Product Overview
Water pump impeller for Mercury and Mariner outboards from 4HP to 9.8 HP, a 6 blade impeller at 31.61 mm outside diameter with an 11.60 mm hub bore and 14.20 mm height, supplied with the drive key. It replaces 47-89981, 47-65957 and 47-39074, and crosses to Sierra 18-3039, GLM 89810 and Mallory 9-45305. Dispatched from our Australia local warehouse.
This is the impeller for the small single cylinder and twin cylinder Mercury blocks that were built over four decades, which is why the fitment note is a serial number range rather than a single model year. Mercury changed the pump internals several times without changing the model name, so two 7.5 HP motors from different years can take different impellers.
If the motor has not been in the water for a while, change the impeller before the first trip rather than after. Dry rubber takes a permanent set, and a motor that ran hot on the first outing usually needs far more than an impeller by the time it gets home.
