Product Overview
Water pump impeller kit 0438593 for Johnson and Evinrude 40HP to 70HP outboards, the full pump kit with housing, insert cup, wear plate and impeller. It fits the 1995 to 1998 models listed below, replaces 5000308, 0769459 and 0437772, and the impeller measures 91.5 x 19.15 x 25.4 mm in a 150 x 100 x 80 mm box.
The kit covers the whole pump, not just the rubber: two bolts, two grommets, the housing, the insert cup, the O ring, two keys, the seal, the wear plate and the gasket all come in the box.
Fit the kit when the tell tale goes weak or the motor has been run dry. The insert cup and the wear plate are what the impeller seals against, and a scored cup will not pump properly even with a new impeller in it.
