Product Overview
Water pump impeller kit, a direct replacement for Mercury, Mariner and Force outboards from 30HP to 70HP built between 1976 and 1979. It replaces Mercury 46-77177A3 and crosses to Sierra 18-3324, and ships as a complete service kit in a 150 mm x 100 mm x 80 mm box at 317 g.
This is the full pump service kit rather than an impeller on its own. It carries the impeller, the stainless plate and cup, the pump housings, the gaskets, the seals, the key and the O rings, which is everything inside the pump that wears.
The pump housings are in the kit because they wear with the impeller. A new impeller in a scored housing loses pressure straight away, and that is the usual reason a freshly serviced motor still runs warm at cruise.
Fitment is listed by country of manufacture and serial range: Australia, Belgium, Canada and the United States, for the 500 at 50 HP four cylinder from 1976 to 1979 and the 70 HP three cylinder from 1977 to 1979. The same kit also covers the 30, 35, 40, 45, 55, 60 and 65 HP motors and the 30 Jet.
