Product Overview
Water pump impeller kit with drive key for Mercury outboards from 4 HP to 9.8 HP, supplied as 1 impeller at 32 mm (1.26 in) outside diameter, 14.4 mm (0.57 in) wide with an 11.6 mm (0.46 in) bore and 6 blades, plus 1 drive key. It replaces Mercury 47-89981, 47-89981B, 47-65957 and 47-39074, and crosses to Sierra 18-3039, GLM 89810 and Mallory 9-45305 and 9-45305-10. Shipped from our Australia local warehouse.
The impeller is neoprene, which is the right compound for a raw water pump in southern conditions: it stays flexible in cold water and recovers after sitting dry, where nitrile hardens and takes a set.
The key is in the pack because these small Mercury shafts shear them. A motor with a good impeller and a sheared key pumps nothing at all.
