Product Overview
Water pump impeller kit part for Yamaha 40 HP to 70 HP two-stroke and four-stroke outboards, supplied with a woodruff key, replacing 6H3-44352-00, 6H3-44352-01 and 697-44352-00, plus Sierra 18-3069. The impeller is moulded from hardened nylon and neoprene rubber and drives on the key rather than a spline. Dispatched from our Australia local warehouse.
This kit covers the biggest family of Yamaha mid range outboards, from the 40 HP two-strokes of the mid nineties through the 70 HP four-strokes that ran to 2017, so the key is included: the original woodruff key is usually the part that gets lost on the ramp, and a new impeller without a key spins on the shaft.
Change the impeller as a service item rather than on failure. A worn one shows up as a weak tell-tale, temperature climbing at cruise, or blades that stay bent and cracked when the housing comes off. While the pump is open, look at the wear plate and the stainless cam for scoring, and check the key slot in the shaft for a rounded edge.
