Product Overview
Water pump impeller kit for Yamaha F2.5 four stroke and 3 HP two stroke outboards, the small pump set with the impeller, two drive pins and the rubber damper that seats it on the shaft. It replaces 6L5-44352-00 and 6L5-44352, crosses to Sierra 18-8911, and it ships in a 15 x 18 x 3 cm box.
It fits the F2.5 four stroke built from 2003 to 2015 and again from 2016 to 2018, and the 3 HP two stroke built from 1988 to 2002. These are the motors on dinghies, tenders and small sailboats, and most of them are run for a few minutes at a time, which is the hardest duty a tiny pump sees.
On a motor this small the impeller is only a few centimetres across, and a set of vanes costs the whole cooling system. The tell tale goes from a solid stream to a dribble and nobody notices until the powerhead is hot. Change the impeller every second season on these little Yamahas, and change the pins with it, because a worn pin rounds off and the impeller stops turning while the shaft keeps spinning.
