Water pump impeller kit for Mercury Mariner 25 HP and 30 HP and Tohatsu and Nissan 25 HP, 30 HP, 35 HP and 40 HP outboards, supplied as 1 x stainless plate, 1 x cup, 1 x impeller, 1 x drive key, 2 x gaskets and 4 x screws, replacing 853792T01, 853792A1 and 361-87322-0.
Tohatsu builds the 25 to 40 HP four stroke blocks that Mercury and Mariner sell as their own, which is why one kit carries both part number families. The Mercury 853792 and the Tohatsu 361-87322 numbers are the same pump.
The kit ships complete with the housing cup and plate, not just the rubber star. Once the cup is scored or the plate is worn, a new impeller on old hardware will not hold pressure, so the whole set goes in together.

Before You Buy
- Check the model and serial on the transom bracket, the 25 to 40 HP block uses this pump
- Check which number family your motor carries, 853792 for Mercury Mariner and 361-87322 for Tohatsu Nissan
- Check the housing for scoring and the plate for grooves, both come in the kit so replace them together
- Check the drive key slot in the shaft, a worn slot will spin a new impeller
- Fit the impeller with a smear of glycerine or soap, never grease or oil
- Turn the shaft by hand while pushing the housing down so the blades fold the right way
- Run on muffs and watch the telltale, then recheck the screws after the first trip
