Flexible Impeller Kit 17937-0001 0460024 for Volvo Penta Perkins Jabsco Oberdorfer Pump
Flexible Impeller Kit 17937-0001 0460024 for Volvo Penta Perkins Jabsco Oberdorfer Pump
Product Overview
Flexible water pump impeller kit for Jabsco, Volvo Penta, Perkins, Yanmar, MerCruiser, Caterpillar, Oberdorfer and Northern Lights pumps, 10 blades, 65 mm diameter, 51 mm wide, 16 mm shaft, 12 spline drive, supplied with a gasket, replacing 17937-0001 and 0460024.
This is the wide 51 mm impeller with the 12 spline hub, the common diesel engine raw water impeller across the Perkins, Volvo Penta, Caterpillar and genset range. The gasket comes in the pack because the pump cover is usually disturbed at the same service.
Twelve spline means the hub must seat square on the shaft spline before the cover goes down. Anything less and the impeller runs half engaged, which shows up as a hot engine and a shredded hub within a couple of hours.

Before You Buy
- Check the number on the old impeller or the pump cover, 17937-0001 and 0460024 are both covered here
- Check the width, this is the 51 mm wide 65 mm body, the narrow version will not pump
- Check the shaft spline for wear, a stripped female spline will ruin the new impeller
- Check the pump cover and cam plate for scoring before refitting
- Fit with glycerine or soap only, never grease or oil on neoprene
- Seat the spline fully and fold the blades in the direction of rotation
- Prime the pump and check the flow at the exhaust or the outlet before loading the engine
