Water pump impeller with drive key for Yamaha and Mariner 6 HP and 8 HP two-stroke outboards, built around a 40 mm outside diameter, 6 blade neoprene impeller on a key drive shaft. It is a direct replacement for Yamaha 6G1-44352-00 and 6G1-44352-00-00, and cross-references Sierra 18-3066. The kit covers the 6 HP models built 1986-2000 and the 8 HP models built 1984-2009 as listed below. Before You Buy
- Verify your outboard model or serial number before ordering — the 6 HP and 8 HP were built across two decades with more than one pump
- Fit the new key with the impeller even if the old one looks serviceable; keys wear oval and let the impeller slip
- Lubricate the impeller with soapy water or glycerine before fitting — never fit it dry or it will burn on first start
- Check the pump housing, wear plate and cup for scoring while the lower unit is apart
- Renew the gear oil at the same time, since the lower unit is already drained and open
