Product Overview
Water pump kit with housing, a direct replacement part for Nissan Tohatsu 25 HP, 30 HP, 35 HP and 40 HP outboards, and for the Mercury Mariner motors that share the same pump body. It replaces Nissan Tohatsu 361-87322-00 and the whole 361-87322 family, plus Mercury Mariner 853792A2 and 853792A07. The kit weighs 240 g and ships in a 150 mm x 100 mm x 65 mm box (5.91 in x 3.94 in x 2.56 in).
Most impeller kits give you the rubber star and a couple of gaskets. This one includes the housing as well, along with the stainless insert that the impeller runs against, the guide plate and the four bolts and washers.
That matters because the housing is what wears out second. A scored or swollen housing lets water past the impeller blades, and a fresh impeller in a worn housing pumps no better than the old one did. The stainless cup takes the same abuse.
The kit covers the whole 25 HP to 40 HP two stroke range on one pump body, which is why sixteen model codes share a single part number.
