Water pump repair kit for the Mercury and Mariner 3.0 L V6 outboards from 200 to 250 HP, the pump kit with the impeller, housing, wear plate, seals and drive key. It replaces MerCruiser 817275Q05 and 817275K05, it crosses to Sierra 18-3147, it fits the 200 DFI, 225 CARB, EFI and DFI and the 250 EFI and XB, and one kit ships in a 160 mm x 120 mm x 90 mm box at 710 g.
The kit is the full pump, not just the rubber. The housing, the wear plate and the face seal come with it, which is what makes it a repair kit rather than an impeller swap, and it means the pump goes back on with a clean surface inside instead of a worn one.
On the 3.0 L V6 the pump sits at the top of the driveshaft housing and is driven by the shaft. A worn housing loses pressure even with a new impeller in it, because the blades cannot seal against a scored wall. That is the reason these kits include the stainless housing and plate.
