Product Overview
Yamaha CDI unit for the 9.9 HP and 15 HP two-stroke outboards built between 1999 and 2009. It replaces Yamaha 63V-85540-00, 63V-85540-00-00, 63V-85540-01 and 63V-85540-02. The unit carries the ignition timing curve and the rev limit for these motors, and plugs into the original connector and mounting points. A failed CDI shows up as a motor that loses spark on one or both cylinders once warm, cuts out at higher rpm, or will not start at all while still cranking normally.
