Product Overview
Water pump rebuild kit for Johnson and Evinrude two stroke outboards rated 20 HP, 25 HP, 30 HP and 35 HP. Everything the pump needs is in the box: impeller, impeller plate, housing, water pump cup, plate gasket, grommet, four O-rings and six stainless steel bolts. The kit replaces 0393630 and the numbers 0390344, 0391636, 0393509 and 0777803, and cross references Sierra 18-3382. Held in our United Kingdom local warehouse.
Buy this rather than a bare impeller when the pump has already failed. A scored cup or a worn housing lets water past the tips no matter how good the rotor is, and on salt water use the housing wears faster than the impeller does. The six stainless bolts are in the kit because the original ones usually come out sheared.
The ratings it serves are 20 HP from 1985 to 1996, 25 HP from 1980 and again 1985 to 1996, 30 HP from 1984 to 1996, and 35 HP from 1980 to 1984, 1986 to 1994 and 1996. Check the tell-tale before you strip it: if flow is still strong and even, the pump may only need a flush and a hose check.
