Water pump impeller for Suzuki, Johnson, Evinrude and OMC outboards from 2 HP to 8 HP, replacing Suzuki 17461-98501 and Johnson Evinrude 5030188 and 0769477, and crossing to Sierra 18-3097. It is supplied as 1 x impeller part.
The impeller measures 40.85 mm outside diameter, 9.75 mm at the shaft insert and 13.75 mm high, with 6 blades. It is the same pump on the small Suzuki two and four strokes from the DT2 up to the DT8, and on the Johnson and Evinrude 4, 5 and 6 HP built from 1998 onwards.
That overlap is why one impeller covers 2hp-thru-8hp across two brands: Suzuki built these pumps and Johnson bought them. Check the old impeller against 17461-98501 and the dimensions above, because the 9.9 HP and larger motors use a bigger pump that looks similar in a photo.

Before You Buy
- Measure the old impeller at 40.85 mm outside and 13.75 mm high, the 9.9 HP pump is larger
- Check the model against the table, the DT5 was built in two separate periods with the same pump
- Check the shaft key and keyway for wear, a worn key spins the impeller on the shaft
- Check the pump liner for scoring, a grooved liner wears the new blades out in a season
- Lubricate the impeller with glycerine and turn the shaft by hand to set the blade direction
- Check the telltale at idle and again at planing speed on the first run
