2x E Ring 53-815949 for MerCruiser Alpha One Gen 2 Quicksilver 815949 18-2345 — Germany Local Warehouse
Product Overview
Sterndrive E ring, a retaining part for MerCruiser Alpha One Gen 2 and Quicksilver Alpha One drives built from 1991 to 2013, supplied as 2 x rings per pack, shipping weight 12 g. It replaces MerCruiser 53-815949 and 815949, and crosses to Sierra 18-2345. Shipped from our Germany local warehouse.
The ring sits in a groove on the shaft and holds the assembly where it belongs. It is a one-use part: once it has been levered out of the groove the legs are bent and it will not seat again, so a rebuild that reuses the old ring ends with a shaft that walks and a gearcase that comes apart a second time.
Nothing about the part is expensive, which is exactly why it is worth having on the shelf. It is also easy to lose over a bilge floor on a cold afternoon on the hard, and a rebuild cannot be closed up without it.
