Product Overview
Nylon drain plug, a direct replacement part for boat transoms, livewells and bilge drains with a 1 inch (25.4 mm) hole. The pack is two plugs, each 2.85 inch (72.4 mm) long and 2.0 inch (50.8 mm) wide outside, retained by two screws through the flange.
The plug is a threaded nylon body with a rubber O ring under the head. You seat it in the 1 inch (25.4 mm) hole, screw the flange down on two screws and the O ring does the sealing. No tools beyond a screwdriver, and no sealant needed if the hole edge is clean.
Nylon is the right material here because it will not corrode, it will not seize in the hole after a season in salt water, and it flexes enough to take the screw load without cracking. The O ring is the only part that wears, and it is cheap to replace.
The plugs fit canoes, kayaks, dinghies, Skeeter boats, sailing boats and fishing boats, and the same 1 inch hole is used on livewells, water tanks, coolers, drain valve outlets and bilge drain ports. Measure the hole before ordering, because a 1 inch (25.4 mm) hole and a 1 inch threaded fitting are not the same thing.
