2x Fuel Pump 6E5-24410-00 6E5-24410-01 18-7349 for Yamaha 115 150 200 225 250 300 HP 2-Stroke Outboard
Product Overview
Fuel pump pair for Yamaha 2-stroke outboards from 115 HP to 300 HP, two pumps in the pack because the V4 and V6 motors carry two of them. It replaces Yamaha 6E5-24410-00 and the later 6E5-24410-01, -02, -03, -04 and -10 numbers, and crosses to Sierra 18-7349 and Mallory 9-35301.
The range is the big carburetted two strokes built between 1984 and 2004: 115, 130, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250 and 300 HP. Both pumps are the same part, one feeding each bank on the V6 and both feeding the V4 through the same bracket.
Change them as a pair. When one diaphragm goes soft the motor leans out on that bank first, and a single new pump beside an old one will run the two carburettor banks at slightly different pressures, which is hard to tune out.

One Pump or Two
| What You See | Which Pump | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| One cylinder bank lean, plug white | Pump on that bank | Change both, the other is the same age |
| Both banks lean at speed | Both pumps or a fuel restriction | Check the filters first, then fit the pair |
| Fuel in the pulse hose | Diaphragm split | Change both pumps |
| Motor needs choke when cold | Pumps weak, bowls slow to fill | Fit the pair and check the primer bulb |
| Fuel smell under the cowl | Weeping pump body | Fit the pair, check every joint |
| Good pressure but runs rich | Carburettor needle, not the pump | Do not change the pumps first |
Big Two Strokes and Fuel Demand
| How the Motor Is Used | Effect on the Pumps | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Long runs at 4500 rpm or more | Pumps work at full stroke all day | Change the pair on hours |
| Fuel tank left low over winter | Diaphragms dry out and harden | Store with a full tank and stabiliser |
| Water in the fuel | Diaphragm and valves corrode | Drain the water trap, fit a filter |
| Pre-mix motor run lean on oil | Pumps unaffected, carburettors are not | Keep the ratio exact |
| Old fuel lines collapsing | Pumps starve and run dry | Renew the lines with the pumps |
| Twin engine boat | Four pumps across two motors | Do both motors together |
Fitting Notes
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Check the number on the old pumps, 6E5-24410-00 and the later suffixes are the same body |
| 2 | Clamp the fuel line and note which hose goes to which carburettor bank |
| 3 | Check the pulse hoses and their clamps, a split hose mimics a failed pump |
| 4 | Clean the mounting face before fitting the new pumps |
| 5 | Fit each pump in the correct orientation, outlet toward the carburettors |
| 6 | Tighten the bolts evenly, the body is die cast and will distort |
| 7 | Prime with the bulb until the bowls are full before cranking |
| 8 | Run the motor and check both pumps and every joint for weeping |
