Water pump impeller with drive key for Yamaha and Mariner 4 HP and 5 HP outboards, replacing 6E0-44352-00 and crossing to Sierra 18-3073, GLM 89860, Mercury Marine 47-96305M and Mallory 9-45611. It is supplied as 1 x impeller part with 1 x drive key.
The impeller measures 39.96 mm outside diameter, 10.4 mm at the hub and 12.55 mm deep, with 6 blades in neoprene rubber on a key drive. It is the small pump used on the 4 and 5 HP motors, so the dimensions matter more than the horsepower on the cowl.
The key is included, and that is the point of this kit. The key is the part that gets lost into the gearcase when the impeller comes off a Yamaha, and a pump rebuilt without it looks correct on the bench and pumps nothing on the water. Buying the impeller with the key avoids a second order for a part that costs less than the postage.

- Measure the old impeller at 39.96 mm outside and 12.55 mm deep, the 6 HP pump is larger
- Check the model is a 4 or 5 HP, including the Yamaha built Mariner 4A and 5A
- Check the driveshaft keyway for wear, a worn keyway will spin a new key on the shaft
- Check the pump liner for scoring, a grooved liner wears the new blades out in a season
- Lubricate the impeller with glycerine and turn the shaft by hand to set the blade direction
- Check the telltale at idle and again at planing speed on the first run
