Product Overview
Bearing bushing kit for Volvo Penta power trim units, two bushings per kit, fitting the DPE, DPX, DPX-S1, DP-C1 and DP-D1 drives. It replaces Volvo Penta 872096 and 876507, and crosses to GLM 23093. The bushings take the pivot load on trim and tilt rams used across the 3.6 L, 3.7 L and 5.7 L engine ranges. Held in our Germany local warehouse.
When a trim ram starts to knock or the drive moves a few millimetres when you push the lower unit, the play is usually in these bushings rather than in the ram itself. They are a soft bearing surface on purpose, so they wear before the housing does.
Worn bushings also let the ram sit off centre, which loads the seal on one side and turns a cheap repair into a leaking cylinder. The 230 HP and 250 HP petrol V8 blocks, the 4.3 L V6 and the 3.6 L diesel four and six cylinder blocks all share this pivot arrangement. Replace the bushings in pairs, check the pivot pin for scoring at the same time, and grease the assembly before the drive goes back on.
