Crankcase Oil Seal 20 032 08-S for Kohler KS530 KS540 SV470 SV480 SV530 SV620
Crankcase Oil Seal 20 032 08-S for Kohler KS530 KS540 SV470 SV480 SV530 SV620
Product Overview
Crankcase oil seal for the Kohler KS and SV engines, supplied as 1 x crankcase oil seal. The seal replaces Kohler 20 032 08-S and 20 032 01-S, it fits the KS530, KS540, KS590 and KS595 at the crankcase, it fits the SV470 through SV620 at the crankcase and the closure plate, and one seal ships at 35 g with packaging.
This is the seal that closes the crankcase around the crankshaft. It holds the oil in at the point where the shaft comes out, and on an engine that has been sitting or has done a lot of hours it is the first place oil starts to show.
The failure is usually a hardened lip rather than a torn one. The rubber takes a set to the shaft, loses its tension, and from then on the seal weeps a film of oil that turns into a drip on the deck or the mounting plate.
On the SV engines the seal is listed for both the crankcase and the closure plate, which is the cover over the crank end. That is why one seal covers a long list of models rather than a single engine.
The two Kohler numbers, 20 032 08-S and 20 032 01-S, are both listed against this seal. Check the number on your old seal, or send us the engine model and the number from the crankcase and we will confirm before you order.

All sixteen models are Kohler engines and all sixteen take the same seal, but not in the same place. On the four KS models it seals the crankcase only. On the twelve SV models it is listed for the crankcase and the closure plate, so an SV engine may use it in either position, and an engine that has been apart may need more than one.
The original listings for this seal name the models without a year range. If your engine is not on the list above, send us the model and the number on the old seal and we will check the fitment before you order.
