Flexible impeller service kit with puller for marine engine raw water pumps, the twelve vane neoprene impeller carried by Jabsco, Sherwood, CEF, JMP, Johnson Pump, Cummins, Caterpillar and DJ Pump pumps. It replaces Jabsco 18958-0001, Sherwood 17000K and 17000, CEF 500164 and JMP 7600-01, the impeller measures 84 mm outside diameter by 73 mm deep on a 20 mm bore, and the kit ships as two impellers, two O-rings, four keys, two plugs and a puller at 1115 g.
The kit is supplied as a pair, which is how these pumps are normally serviced on a twin pump installation or on an engine where the pump is hard to reach: two impellers means the spare is on the shelf rather than on order. The four keys cover the different keyway depths used across the pump brands, and the two plugs are the cover plugs that are usually destroyed when the pump is opened.
The puller is the part most owners do not have. A flexible impeller that has been in a pump for a few seasons bonds itself to the shaft, and levering it out with a screwdriver damages the housing face and the shaft. The puller threads onto the impeller hub and draws it out square, which is the difference between a service and a new pump body.
The 84 mm by 73 mm impeller at twelve vanes is used on the larger raw water pumps, the sort fitted to engine driven cooling systems on inboard diesels and on generator sets. The shaft drive is a 3/16 inch keyway, so the keys in the kit are matched to that shaft rather than to a spline.
